Scouts Association Actively Contributes to Nation Building

A workshop organized by the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association is one of relevant initiatives in upgrading the living quality of youth in the country.  The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, who is also the Vice President of the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association, underlined this at the closing ceremony of a workshop on National Strategic Planning, Friday.

Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Maidin said that youth should have the attitude to explore new and innovative things.  Hopefully, through the experiences gained at the workshop, participants would not only be involved in the planning and creation of a mission and vision for the scouts

movement in Brunei Darussalam, but also in identifying their own in the future.  Some forty scout members are attending the five-day workshop. 

By the year 2013, the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association with a membership of 10,000, will be the nation’s prime youth movement in providing challenging programmes and creating youth of excellence who play an important role in nation building.  Friday’s function was held at the association’s headquarters in Gadong.
