Great news for local soccer fans,
especially supporters of the Brunei ‘Wasps’ in Premier 2 of the
Malaysian League.
The Wasps’ former attacking
sensation, Mohamed Brian Iman Abdullah Bothwell returns to the
Malaysian League soon. This follows a green light from the
Football Association of Malaysia, FAM for the Australian to play
in the Brunei Darussalam team.
During the heydays of the Wasps,
Mohamed Brian Iman was a key player who was often dubbed as the
‘Playmaker’. He played a vital role in 1999 when Brunei
Darussalam brought home the Malaysia Cup for the first time
after more than twenty years.

After three disappointing seasons,
the return of Mohamed Brian Iman is expected to strengthen the
Wasps in Premier 2.
The good news of allowing Mohamed
Brian Iman to be registered in the Brunei team for the 2003
season was confirmed by the Secretary General of the Brunei
Darussalam Football Association, BAFA, Pengiran Haji Metussin.
He conveyed the much awaited news following a telephone
conversation with the FAM’s Deputy Secretary General.
Mohamed Brian Iman is scheduled to
play in a home fixture on Sunday, when Brunei Darussalam takes
on Perak TKN.
