
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah,
the Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented
to receive letters of appointment from five newly appointed
envoys from friendly nations. The ceremony took place at Istana
Nurul Iman, Tuesday. His Majesty then consented to receive the
newly appointed envoys in separate audiences.
His Majesty first consented to receive in audience the 51-year
old new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Brunei
Darussalam, His Excellency Kim Woong Nam.
His Majesty next consented to grant an audience to the Sierra
Leone High Commissioner, Her Excellency Haja Alari Hawanatu
Cole, aged 56 years, and based in Tehran. Sierra Leone is a
developing country in Western Africa. English is the official
language.
His Majesty later consented to grant an audience to the
Ambassador of Portugal to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Joao
Jose Gomes Caetano Da Silva, aged 47 years old. Portugal is
located in Southwestern Europe, bordering the North Atlantic
Ocean, West of Spain with a population of more than 10 million
people.

His Majesty then received in audience the 52-year old Ambassador
of Morocco to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Badre Eddine
Allali. Rabat is the capital of Morocco, located in Northern
Africa, bordering the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean
Sea between Algeria and Western Sahara.
Lastly, His Majesty received in audience the Ambassador of
Sweden, His Excellency Teppo Markus Tauriainen. Sweden is
located in Northern Europe with a population of nearly 9 million
people.
Present during the audiences were the Special Adviser to His
Majesty at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Home
Affairs, Pehin Dato Laila Utama Haji Isa and the Deputy Minister
of Foreign Affairs, Pehin Dato Paduka Haji Ali.
Later, His
Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, the Minister of Foreign
Affairs also granted separate audiences to the five newly
appointed foreign envoys. The audiences took place at the Balai
Penghadapan Bukit Kayangan. During the audiences, His Royal
Highness welcomed the five envoys and discussed bilateral
matters.
