Police nab thieves, solving 8 robbery cases

The Jerudong Police Station has recovered stolen goods that were reported stolen at the beginning of this year.  Twelve locals have been arrested.  Of the number, five among them are under age, and one is a foreign student studying at a local secondary school.

As the result of the arrests, police officers have successfully solved eight robbery cases in a time span of about 3 months.  More than a hundred various kinds of stolen items, such as home appliances, personal belongings and car accessories have been recovered.  According to the police, among the thieves are a 12-year-old boy and a 33-year-old unemployed man.

The goods were reported stolen from the Jerudong, Sengkurong and Lambak areas.  Police believe that they carried out these acts in exchange for the drug “Syabu”.

The stolen goods have been estimated to have a street value of ten thousand to twenty thousand dollars.  All the culprits have been released on police bail for further investigation and they later will be brought to court for trial.
