Environment Campaign teaches youth the value of Brunei’s forests

The forest is extremely valuable, thus various steps must be taken to protect it from irresponsible people.

The Forestry Department is a government agency responsible for protecting the forest in the country.  In the Belait District, only 142 thousand 560 hectares of forest remain. 

The Brunei Forestry Centre in Sungai Liang is the administration centre for the Belait District, which covers the Forest Museum, Forest Plantation and Country Herbarium Fore - the living organism collections, timber industry and the recreation facilities.

The Forest Museum has displays of the tools used in the timber industry, as well as house models made from timber.  It also has displays of  

Meanwhile, a total of 50 students, who are participating in the four-day environment campaign for youth in the Belait District, visited the Brunei Forestry Centre in Sungai Liang and Sungai Liang Recreation Park, Tuesday. 

The project is aimed at instilling positive attitudes in today’s youth, and creating a caring society.  The project will end on Thursday.
