Dedication to the mosque can help quell unhealthy pastimes

The Tutong District Officer has called on the nation's youth to get even closer to mosque.  Awang Hepnie said the mosque not only serves as a place of worship but also as a centre of disseminating educational and religious knowledge.  He was speaking at the Tarhim Suboh Competition for mosque youths in the Tutong District.  The function took place at the Kampung Lubok Pulau Mosque.
Awang Hepnie also called on parents to give their support and encouragement to their children.  He stressed that their presence in mosques can help create awareness, giving them the strength to face current and future challenges, especially in the fight against social ills.

He also said that by making frequent visits to mosque, children could be distracted from getting involved in unhealthy activities.

Ten participants representing their respective mosques, suraus and religious halls in the Tutong District took part in the contest, which was organised for the first time.  The winner was Abdul Aziem Bin Haji Aminuddin from Kampung Keriam.
