The first school term for the 2004 session
has begun. As usual, at the start of the term each year, a secondary
or primary school receives new students and pupils who, for their
part, meet their new teachers and classmates.

In the Belait District, all secondary
schools on the whole, welcome into their form 1 classes, new students
who had passed the primary school assessment or PSR Examinations. The
Belait District recorded 93 percent passes in the previous PSR. That
is 593 students passed out of 641 who sat for the exam last year.
Meanwhile, pra-school pupils entered their third day of schooling
today. Numerous habits and acts can be seen in the first week of
their presence in school. |

In Belait, a total of 500 pupils were
registered at primary schools in the district. RTB crew was in the
district to record the scenario of these future leaders in front of
their respective classes. Parents were also presence at classrooms
and some of them were seen waiting outside with the intention of
comforting their children with have just begun their life in school.
At present, teachers are playing an
important role to encourage pupils to mix around, besides teaching
them on how to stand on their own foot and also to allow these pupils
to follow the education system wisely.
