First Group of Intending Pilgrims Leave for the Holy Land

The first group of 249 Haj pilgrims of private package left the country Wednesday evening.  In conjunction with the Haj season this year, Royal Brunei Airlines will be operating a total of five flights to Jeddah.  Of the number, four charter services are operated on behalf of Darussalam Holdings.

Meanwhile, the intending pilgrims are advised to be fit in performing the fifth pillar of Islam.  Intending pilgrims should have made preparations in the previous three months of Syawal, Zulkaedah and Zulhijjah, so that they know the basic rules when performing the Haj, and abide by the regulations when they arrive in the Holy City of Mekah.  This was stated by a lecturer from Islamic Dakwah Centre, Doctor Haji Mohd. Syahroni, in Dakwah

Centre, Doctor Haji Mohd. Syahroni, in a talk for officers and staff of the Ministry of Finance who will perform the Haj this year.  The talk was followed with a doa selamat.

Performing the Haj is an obligation for every Muslim who can afford it to fulfill at least once in a lifetime.  While in Mekah, one should be patient in facing challenges and difficulties in performing the Haj, in order to achieve the “Haji Mabrur”, or the Haj accepted by Allah the Almighty.

Present at the ceremony was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Maidin.
