MTSSR’s New Intake Encouraged to be Patriotic

New students of the Sultan Saiful Rijal Technical College are reminded to instill a sense of patriotism in the contexts of their studies.  This is not only to encourage them to love their own country but also could help them to discipline themselves, to be loyal and improve their skills in the technical field.  The Acting Principal of the college, Pengiran Haji Suhaimi, made the reminder at the Orientation and Registration Day of the new 39th intake of January 2004 session.

He said Brunei Darussalam will soon celebrate its 20th National Day and this will give them a sense of patriotism, particularly in achieving success in education.  Students must also be dynamic in

terms of being active and alert on the current developments in and outside the country.  Having great knowledge and creativity without totally depending on teachers will also help them to develop their mind and experience, and this will directly help the country to produce dynamic students.

A total of 60 new students will begin three-year courses beginning from the certificate level to pre-diploma.  Twenty-four students will study aircraft engineering, 16 students have enrolled for the national pre-diploma of science, 12 in basic cookery, basic food and beverage service, and 8 others have chosen vehicle body engineering.
