To ensure the longevity of the production of
Liquefied Natural Gas for the next 30 years, the Brunei LNG plant has
taken an initiative by replacing the major component of the plant, the
main Cryogenic Heat Exchanger, with a new design in line with the
latest technology. The replacement project is one of the 20 major
activities to be carried out under BLNG’s Asset Reference Plan towards
a much more sustainable future for the country. Known as the heart of
the plant, the first two components are expected to arrive in the
country at the end of this month. |

The new heat
exchanger is manufactured in Germany and its
design is different from the current US-made heat exchanger.

The Managing Director
of Brunei LNG, Dato Paduka Haji Hamdillah said the replacement project
is among others to strengthen the country’s long-term economy and
integrity. The 120-million dollar project will be conducted in
phases, with the replacement of the first two heat exchangers to be
carried out this year and another two next year. |
