Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna
said it is important to continuously place a strong emphasis on human
capacity building with equal access to education, employment and
training. This would help women to promote self-development and place
them in a better position to cope with challenges as well as fully
utilize opportunities in the increasingly competitive world. Her
Royal Highness made the remark while officially closing the 7th Area
Conference Associated Country Women of the World, ACWW, for South East
Asia and the Far East.
Her Royal Highness in her closing address
said that in bringing women into the mainstream of the society, women
need to promote partnership with their counterparts without prejudice
and should complement each other. Her Royal Highness said women
should adopt a lifelong learning attitude and |

constantly update their knowledge and
skills. Especially in this globalized world where information and
communication technology is one of its main drivers, women should
capitalize on the benefits it presents in the new economy.
Her Royal Highness received the conference
recommendation from the conference co-chairperson, Datin Hajah Masni.
Her Royal Highness later received a souvenir from the ACWW World
President, Helda Stewart. The week-long conference with the theme,
“Working With Women Worldwide”, addressed the many challenges women
face in their daily lives against the backdrop of globalization.
The conference was organised by the Brunei
Darussalam Women’s Institute, WI, with the cooperation of the Youth
and Sports Department.
