His Majesty Conveys Heartiest Congratulations on Australia Day

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam has also consented to extend congratulatory messages to the Governor-General of Australia, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffrey and the Prime Minister, the Honourable John Howard on the occasion of Australia Day. 

In the messages, His Majesty expresses satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that have long been established between Brunei Darussalam and Australia.  His Majesty hopes that this would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the good of the two countries and people.

In a message to the Governor-General of Australia, His Majesty hoped for His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffrey to always remain in good health and happiness, and that the people of Australia would always enjoy continued progress and prosperity.

In a similar congratulatory message to the Prime Minister of Australia, His Majesty congratulates the Honourable John Howard and the government and people of Australia on the auspicious occasion.  His Majesty also wishes the Australian Prime Minister continued good health and happiness and for the prosperity of the people of Australia.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs also sent a congratulatory message to Australia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Alexander Downer on the occasion of Australia Day.  In his message to the Australia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Royal Highness says that he values the excellent relations between the sultanate and Australia and looks forward to continue working together in enhancing close bilateral relations as well as regional cooperation.
