Belait Plans Fun-filled Events for 20^th National Day

The Belait District is to organise a perkampungan or a gathering in conjunction with the 20th National Day celebration at the district level, on 7th March at the Padang Bandaran in Kuala Belait.  This was announced at a meeting of the coordinating committee of the gathering, Monday.  Among other events discussed at the meeting were an exhibition on the history of Brunei by the respective ministries, sports and competitions.  The celebration in the Belait District will focus on the rakyat manifestation, which will involve people of all races and ethnics from all walks of life.

Brunei Darussalam celebrates its National Day on the 23rd of February.  The theme of this year’s National Day is “Patriotisme Teras Keteguhan Negara”, or “Patriotism: The Core of the Nation’s Strength”.  Monday’s meeting was part of the Belait District’s preparation to ensure that the celebration will run smoothly.  The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board, Awang Abdul Majid bin Alias.
