His Majesty Honours Locals With Special Medals

 

 

 

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to present recipients with Brunei Darussalam honorary medals.  His Majesty was represented by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince.  The function took place at the Dewan Persantapan Lapau in the capital, Tuesday. 

A total of 423 recipients received the Brunei Darussalam honorary medals.  His Royal Highness consented to present the Meritorious Service Medal, PJK or Pingat Jasa Kebaktian to 58 recipients.  Among them were the Syarie High Court Judge, Pehin Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Salim and the Attorney General, Dato Paduka Haji Kifrawi.

Among the criteria for the recipients of the Meritorious Service Medal is to be loyal to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam as well as to be devout to the monarch, nation and religion. 

 

The recipients comprised of government officers and staff.  A total of 179 received the Pingat Indah Kerja Baik, PIKB, while 186 recipients received the Long Service Medal, PKL. 

Also present at the ceremony were Pengiran Cheterias, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Council, Foreign Diplomats, Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Department.  Each recipient must have good serving records while serving the government, including the internal security, and have achieved good conduct while serving. 

Doa selamat was read by the State Mufti, Pehin Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Abdul Aziz.
