Yang Berhormat also presented prizes and certificates to winners of this year's landscape competition for mosques and suraus in the the District, of which the Kampung Belais mosque emerged as champion. Before leaving, the minister planted a tree.
The Minister of Religious Affairs also visited the Balai Ibadat or prayer hall of Kampung Sibut and the Rataie National Housing Scheme Mosque. In one of his earlier visits, he highlighted the important role of a mosque, saying that it was the best venue for generating one's inner strength. One of the roles that should be fulfilled by mosques, the minister stressed, was to spread knowledge and give advice to the community and it was the mosque's duty to maintain its cleanliness and beautiful landscape.
