The Attorney-General says treating illness by way that is
against Islam, contravenes the Religious Court Act. |
| |
|
The
interpretation of the community of one being possessed is that it can
cause hardship and defamation on the individual involved, whether the
individual is actually possessed or being disturbed by doings intended
to gain benefits, revenge and the likes. Whatever form it is in, it is
against Islam totally.
This was stated
by the Attorney-General, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Haji Kifrawi,
at the launching of a book entitled "kerasukan; merawat dan mencegahnya"
or "possessed ; treatment and prevention". He said in Brunei Darussalam
there is an act called the Islamic Religious Council and Kadhi Court
Act, Chapter 77, which stipulates that even though activities or the
abuse of knowledge or interest are not stated directly such as treating
illness by way that is against Islam, the practitioner would be
contravening the act. More so if the practitioner carries out his
activities in public or teach others. All these have been forbidden by
the Mufti's ruling.
The book was
written by the State Mufti, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato
Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, based on the "bersama
Mufti programmes" inconjunction with the isra' and mikraj 1426
celebration aired by Radio Television Brunei recently. It was then
edited and adapted for publication to act as a guide to be practiced by
the public. |
