Kampung Delima Satu residents vote for new ketua

 

Ketua kampungs are urged to hold consultative meetings with their village residents in identifying their problems. The Brunei Muara District Officer reiterated the call in his welcoming speech during the voting ceremony for a new Ketua Kampung Delima Satu in Mukim Berakas ‘A’, Sunday. Dato Paduka Haji Md. Yussop stressed that such meeting can help enhancing unity among the kampung residents. The Brunei Muara District Officer also spoke on the need to instill voluntary practice among the village residents.
 

More than one hundred residents of the Kampung Delima Satu in the Brunei-Muara District turned up to vote for the new ketua kampung. The post of ketua kampung left vacant since November 2002 after the demise of the Retired Major Pengiran Haji Jaludin bin Pengiran Haji Mustafa. Currently, Awang Haji Mohamad Zain bin Abd. Karim serves as the Acting Ketua Kampung of Delima Satu. The only candidate for the post at Sunday’s voting was Pengiran Roslan Bin Pengiran Tuah. The 38-year-old former member of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces is now a self-employment.

 
 

BM District League Championship 2006 launched

 

 

Thirty-nine football teams from the Brunei Muara District are participating in the Brunei Muara District League Championship for Division One, Two and Three 2006. Launching the championship Sunday was the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Retired Major General Pehin Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Mohammad.

One hundred and forty-one matches have been fixed in the nine-month long championship. The day’s event also coincided with the presentation of 15 thousand five hundred dollar donation from the NBT Brunei to the Brunei Muara District Football Association. The championship commenced with the first match between Stamp FC in and Dragonfly FC. Such championship is aimed at instilling the interest in soccer among youths in the country in order to produce talented players.

 
 

Brunei DPMM FC collects one point in Malaysian Premier League

 

Brunei DPMM FC collected one point after a goalless draw with Kedah, in an away match held last night. The match took place at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Star Kedah.

In the next match, Brunei DPMM FC plays against Sarawak in an away match at the Sarawak Stadium in Kuching on the 15th of this month.
