Home
Minister calls on departments under his ministry to clear all outstanding
applications and revenues |
| |
 |
|
The Minister of Home
Affairs has urged departments under his ministry to attend to
outstanding applications and for those with revenue
generating-responsibility to bring their collections of revenues
up-to-date. Pehin Dato Paduka Haji Adanan also said that legal actions
should be taken against those who failed to pay their outstanding debts.
He made these points at a meeting with the Deputy Minister, Permanent
Secretaries, Acting Permanent Secretary and heads of department and
senior officers of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Monday. |
|
|
The Minister pointed out that if applications were not processed and
settled, they will surely accumulate with the addition of new ones.
Likewise if no actions were taken to collect outstanding revenues, these
too will accumulate and may reach thousands or even hundreds of
thousands of dollars, making them more difficult to recover. As such,
the Minister urged every department to identify an effective mechanism
to ensure that payments due for services must be settled so as to
generate revenue for the government. At the meeting, heads of department
gave briefings on the achievements of their respective departments
during 2005 as well as on projects and programmes for 2006.
