The Dikir Brunei is well received and known by the Bruneian community and has become a tradition of the country. Such efforts, he added, would not only accelerate the spread of the Dikir but could also become a material or additional study that could motivate the public especially the young generation to study the religious songs.

The Dikir Brunei Workshop will be implemented in stages starting with imams and bilals. It will commence next month with ten songs in the first phase and nine songs in the second session. A total of 27 Brunei Dikir songs have been recorded by ten Dikir groups from mosques in the country. It was compiled in a 7 volume set and is being sold to the public for 4 dollars each. Last night’s event was held at the Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque in Kampung Serusop.
