Her Majesty attends a special religious gathering for women

 
    Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha yesterday consented to attend a special gathering for women, to commemorate the Birthday Anniversary of Prophet Mohammad S-A-W for the year 1426 Hijrah. Accompanying Her Majesty were Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah;  
 

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Saadatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam and Yang Mulia Datin Hajah Faezah binti Dato Haji Nasir.

 
 

The gathering's Co-Chairman, Datin Hajah Mastura binti Haji Mohsin, in her welcoming address, explained that contributions towards the development of Islam was an important criteria in selecting the recipients for the award, 'Anugerah Bakti Hijrah Khas Wanita'.

 

 
 

 

A special talk was presented by an invited lecturer from Malaysia, Dayang Hajah Siti Nur Bahyah binti Mahmud who spoke on the role of women in developing a faithful nation. At the gathering, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha consented to present prizes to the two recipients of the Anugerah Bakti Hijrah Khas Wanita 2005. They are Dayang Hajah

 
 

Azizah binti Nawi, aged 63 years from Kampong Lumut in the Belait district, and Dayang Hajah Hajibah binti Omar, aged 73 years, from Kampong Panchor Papan in the Tutong district.  They both receive 10 thousand dollars, a certificate, a souvenir and free medical treatment at all government hospitals. The theme of the Maulud celebrations this year is 'Bersepadu Memperkasa Bangsa Bertaqwa.

Her Majesty Raja isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha last night consented to attend the Premiere Show of Disney on Ice's Princess Classics. The show hosted by Baiduri Bank took place at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sport Complex in Berakas

The show is the fourth such timeless classic brought to life in an ice extravaganza into the country. Indonesia’s Air Force chief receives Honorary Pilot wing

 
 

 

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddien Waddaulah, the Sultan consented to bestow the Honaray Pilot Awing award to the  Chief of the Indonesian National Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Djoko Suyanto.

 
 

The awards was handed over by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi to the Air Marshal Djoko Suyanto  in recognition of the Indonesian Air Chief Marshall's outstanding service, valuable efforts and contributions.

Traffic police acts to curb an authorized modification on vehicles

 
 

Seven cars have been impounded following a surprise operation launched by the Royal Brunei Police Force in the Brunei Muara District for unauthorized modification of vehicles. The operation was part of ongoing efforts by the relevant authorities to monitor and crack down on unhealthy and criminal activities in the country that usually occur after mid-night.

 

 
 

 

In a suprised operation that was carried out after midnight last Saturday at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium and Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex, seven motorists who were found loitering in the vicinity were apprehended for failing to adhere to traffic regulations. According to the police the offenders failed to display road tax,

 
  driving licenses, contrarily to license plate regulation, and  installation of disapproved accessories. Summons were issued and the vehicles were taken to the Land Transport Department for re-inspection. Unathorised modifiction of vehicles is an offence and that vehicles that are modified not according to approved specifications are unsafe.
