Moslem are warns of ways of deviating the Ummah

Muslims beware..! There're hostile elements or propagandists moving around trying to deviate the Ummah from Islam. Of late, the efforts of these groups have intensified, and the techniques used have become more varied in the quest to make Muslims leave Islam and become apostate. The reminder comes in today's Khutbah or Friday sermon.

Among the techniques used to deviate Muslims is befriending and helping needy people. The Khutbah warns that the enemies of Islam are relentless in their desire to wipe out Islam and its followers from the face of the Earth. They use many tactics including endearing themselves to people in difficulties such as the jobless and the homeless. This they achieve by insincerely providing sustenance, work, houses, education and other assistance. Behind the mask of kindness, the hostile elements carry out their propagation, handing out documents, books, cassettes and other religious oriented material. After softening the targets with such moves, they continue by asking the victims to join them in prayers. The targeted people are given something called black water to drink, that turns their tongues black and prevents them from uttering the Syahadah or Islamic pledge when they hear the Azan or call to prayer. Strangely, the black water is given to Muslims only. The confessions of people who had been tricked and became apostates, suggest that they succumbed to the trickeries of the enemies of Islam because of life's pressures, the lack of religious knowledge and weak faith. In this regards, the sermon warns of the dangers of not having religious knowledge.

Police chief warns against bribery in the police organization

One of the greatest challenges faced by law enforcement agencies is bribery. It is an offence according to the law as well as a disgraceful act in Islam. Bribery creates a negative impact where law enforcement officers can make unfair, unprofessional and dishonest decisions. The Acting Police Commissioner made the statement at the Passing Out Parade for 168 female and male recruits of the Royal Brunei Police Force 1/2004. The function took place at the Police Training Centre in Police Headquarters in Gadong, Friday.

Pehin Datu Kerma Setia Awang Zainuddin, said that bribery will not only affect the credibility of an individual but also the image of the police force. If this happens, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin added, it means that justice cannot be upheld. He also reminded all the officers and staff of the police force not to practise bribery and to eradicate it from the organisation. He went on to say that if it happens, the members of the public will lose their trust and belief in the Royal Brunei Police Force as an 'external stakeholders'. So it is important and a responsibility of every officer and staff of the police force to make sure that bribery will have no place in their organisationYang Dimuliakan Pehin also handed over awards to six policemen and policewomen for being the best in the respective categories. Awang Bohari bin Haji Mumin was selected as the best overall top male recruit. Meanwhile, the best overall top female recruit was Dayang Noraziah binti Kunchil.
