Balanced
scorecard is one of ways of bringing industrial projects to realization |
| |
 |
|
For Brunei
Darussalam, good governance plays a fundamental role in realising the
national projects and programmes which require initiative efforts,
sincerity and commitment of government agencies, especially to attract
Foreign Direct Investment. The Minister of Communications, Pehin Dato
Seri Setia Haji Abu Bakar underscores this at the launching of the
ASEAN-EC International Seminar 2006 on “Managing For Results, Using
Balanced Scorecard To Achieve Breakthrough Performance And Good
Governance”, Monday. The Minister noted that the most important benefit
derived from using a scorecard, is the ability to make strategy
operational and to achieve operational commitment. |
|
|
The seminar was
conducted by a Professor of Leadership Development at America’s Harvard
Business School, Doctor Robert Kaplan, who is also the creator of
Balanced Scorecard. As quoted in the Harvard Business Review, balanced
scorecard has been one of the most influential management ideas. It is
a performance measurement tool and increasingly important as a
management tool to align with the strategic plan of an organization.
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s
government through the Prime Minister’s Office is instrumental towards
better public service delivery in a more structured and coherent manner
to their client in the recent years. The ceremony was held at the
International Convention Centre in Berakas. |
