His Majesty urges the nation to be always
prepared to face challenges |
| |
 |
|
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the
Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam underscores the high
value of peace and prosperity in a titah inconjunction with the 44th
Anniversary of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF, Tuesday. While
Brunei Darussalam enjoys peace and prosperity, His Majesty says, it
nevertheless sympathises and feels for others who are plagued by
misfortunes, conflicts, diseases and disasters, which destroy towns and
villages, causing huge losses of lives.
|
|
| |
The Monarch who is the Supreme Commander
of the RBAF reminded that Brunei Darussalam should not be complacent in
spite of it not experiencing these adversities, but should take lessons
and examples from them. His Majesty says incidents and turmoils should
be a reminder of the great value of the country’s prosperity and asks is
it not appropriate for the people to learn from the things that are
happening around the country and be determined to defend the security
that the nation enjoys?
|
|
| |
His Majesty stresses that it is wrong for
the people to fold their arms and hope to be spared forever from such
undesired incidents or calamities. Such things are the work of Allah the
Almighty, says His Majesty, thus the nation should not only be
bystanders, but should join other citizens of the world to contribute as
part of a humanitarian and peace mission.
|
|
| |
His Majesty says that the Royal Brunei
Armed Forces has proven its involvement of which it can be proud, such
as in contributing to humanitarian and peace missions. This makes it
the more important for the RBAF to upgrade its capability and efficiency
as the main line of defence that needs to be always on the ready, in
facing challenges. The Monarch stresses that the force needs to
transform itself in all aspects and that all levels of leadership must
possess an awareness to fulfill the great hopes of the Royal Brunei
Armed Forces and for this, a transformation is called for. Such a
transformation, His Majesty says should not be limited to structures,
techniques and capabilities, but also in aspects of leadership and
mindset. The Monarch warns that if these are neglected, it’s feared
that the RBAF will fall victim to the rapid changes taking place
everywhere. No one in the armed forces, therefore, should shut himself
to change and that everyone must always be open to new methods in
defence matters.
|
|
| |
In the titah,
His Majesty expresses his happiness that the Ministry of Defence is
currently implementing its policies and strategic planning which can
bring it to a more organised and systematic defence. His Majesty
believes that more than four decades of existence has given the Royal
Brunei Armed Forces enough experience to become a dynamic and
authoritative force. Apart for being excellent and strong, the armed
force should also be people friendly. The Monarch emphasises that it is
a great characteristic of moral and discipline and to complete it, one
should always strive to be close to Allah to invoke the Almighty’s help
and protection. |
