The Housing Development Department to introduce two storey deluxe and standard type of houses.

The Housing Development Department has taken the initiative in ensuring that occupants of Housing Scheme throughout the country are comfortably housed. The department will soon introduce a two -storey house of deluxe and standard types. Some 247 houses under the Phase Five Kampong Rimba Housing Scheme have been completed and are now undergoing improvement on infrastructure and facilities.  The deluxe and standard types of houses have three bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room each with the exception that the standard will only have only two bathrooms and three for the deluxe. The difference between the two types is its flow area where the bathroom in the deluxe is detached from the master bedroom and a veranda on the top floor.  Construction of terrace houses that began in June last year is expected to be ready by the middle of next year. Each block consists of 10 to 12 units.  The design of the terrace houses at Kampong Rimba Housing Scheme is similar to those at the Kampong Mentiri Housing Scheme.
