 His Majesty grants an audience to a Malaysian minister.

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, has consented to receive in audience, the Minister at the Prime Minister's office, Malaysia. The audience took place at Istana Nurul Iman.  His Majesty consented to receive The Honourable Dato Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi. During the audience, His Excellency was accompanied by the Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Dato Ku Jaafar bin Ku Shaari. Also present at the audience was the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Jawatan Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Doctor Ustaz Awang Haji Mohamad Zain, the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ishaaq bin Haji Abdullah, and the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yusof. The Honourable Dato Ahmad Zahid is in the country for a one-day introductory visit. Prior to his present posting, Yang Berhormat was Malaysia's Deputy Minister of Tourism and Deputy Minister of Information.

Malaysian delegation visit Islamic Dakwah Centre

While in the country the Honourable Dato Ahmad Zahid and delegation made a visit to the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The Honourable also paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Jawatan Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Doctor Ustaz Awang Haji Mohamad Zain. Also present was the Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Dato' Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari.  The Malaysian Minister and delegation also visited the Islamic Dakwah Centre where they viewed the Centre's exhibition room where various collections were kept, among them were several copies of the holy quran and the Kaabah Door Kiswah of 1408 Hijrah corresponding to 1987 - a present from the King of Saudi Arabia to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The Malaysian visitors also had the opportunity to view the exhibition gallery where  some of the prohibited items are kept and its information in refer to their usage which are of course contradictory to Islamic teachings...........[More News]
