His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam expresses his satisfaction with the warm relations and close cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the United States of America.  His Majesty is confident that the two countries will continue to work together, both bilaterally and multilaterally, to promote peace and stability, for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples.  His Majesty conveyed this in a congratulatory message to His Excellency George W. Bush, President of the United States of America on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day Anniversary.  His Majesty also hopes His Excellency would always remain in good health and happiness as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of the United States of America. 

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, also sent a congratulatory message to the United States of America’s Secretary of State, Her Excellency Condoleeza Rice, on the occasion of America’s Independence Day.  His Royal Highness expressed his congratulations to Her Excellency and the Government and people of the United States on the occasion.  His Royal Highness appreciates the friendship and cooperation enjoyed by the two countries and thanked Her Excellency for her personal contribution to enhancing these excellent relations.

By command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, it’s hereby announced that His Majesty has consented to the appointment of Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa bin Pehin Datu Perdana Manteri Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Ibrahim; and Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Abdul Hamid bin Bakal, in their personal capacity as members of the Privy Council.  Their appointment took effect from the 27th of Jamadilakhir 1429 Hijrah, corresponding to the 1st of July 2008. 

Meanwhile, by command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Prime Minister’s Office hereby announces that His Majesty has consented to appoint Dato Paduka Haji Rashid bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Director-General of Public Works, Department of Public Works as the Permanent Secretary of Technical and Professional at the Ministry of Development.  

The date of appointment of the said officer is effective from Friday, 1st of Rejab, 1429 corresponding to 4th of July, 2008...........[More News]
