Radio Programme Division
Radio Services began on the eve of an auspicious 1st Syawal 1376 Hijriah (Hari Raya Aidilfitri), where the late Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddin Sa’adul Khairi Waddein consented to officially launched in the evening of 2 May 1957. In the early days, radio transmission could only be heard by people living within a 5 miles radius from the transmitter site. Broadcast was limited to only 2 hours 45 minutes a day, from 7.30pm to 9.45pm with Malay programming occupying 1½ hour and English broadcast occupying ¾ of an hour.

2) Pilihan FM – General Programming (Slogan “Simply Your Choice”)
3) Pelangi FM – For the Young & Young At Heart (Slogan “Penghibur Penggerak Minda”)
4) Harmoni FM – For Family & Sports (Slogan “Inspirasi Keluarga Bahagia”)
5) Nur Islam FM – For Religious Programming (Slogan “Wadah Tarbiyah Insani”)
Television Programme Division
Roles:
TV Programmes Division works to provide and create local TV programmes. The programmes produced by the TV Programmes Division are:
- Religious Programmes
- Educational Programmes
- Local Drama
- Entertainment Programmes
- Quiz Programmes
- Children and Teenagers’ Programmes
- Game Shows
- Government campaigns and much more
News and Current Affairs Division
The News Centre of Radio Televisyen Brunei is a major provider of domestic news to Bruneians. News programmes are relayed through radio networks and both domestic and satellite television channels. According to the audience surveys conducted by reputable audience research firms that were tasked by the department, news programmes had the highest ratings amongst television audience. The airing of news in the country plays a vital role in giving accurate and up-to-date information to the public and the people of Brunei Darussalam about the policies, activities and projects made by the Government, implemented for the development of Brunei Darussalam.
Roles:
- To produce fast, accurate and concise information for the local and foreign news
- To publish news material and current programs
- To improve the quality of reporting and visual shots
- To produce more professional products
Engineering Division
The Engineering Section provides technical assistance and operations. Responsible in ensuring a smooth transmission and signal flow in an orderly manner as well as the development of facilities in accordance with the current technology development. As soon as the first RTB Studio was built in 1975, RTB was viewed as one of the most advanced organization within the region. This was because RTB started its services with 100% full coloured television. Overall commitment to colour television was almost never experienced around the world over during that time. A broadcasting organization is defined through its engineering department. All the transmitting equipment must be built to air the programs to the viewers, the communications system must exist to send information from the studio to the transmitter sites. The screening program and the distribution system exist to enable natural resource programs and the studio system must be provided to create local television programs.
Roles:
- Provide technical assistance and operations
- To ensure a smooth transmission and signal flow in an orderly manner
- To ensure the progress of the development of facilities in accordance with current technology
Policy and Planning Division
The Administration Division’s is responsible for RTB’s Human Resource Development. As the central management of the Department, the administration that ensures the civil service and financial regulations.
ROLES:
- Manage administration and staffs’ welfare
- Manage the purchase of office equipment
- Managing and controlling financial provision
- Manage the care of the assets of Radio Television Brunei
- Plan and manage the training and career development of all staffs
- Fulfill all the Information Technology needs for Radio Television Brunei
- Manage matters related to public relation activities
Under the care of the Administration Division, there are several sections:
1) FINANCE SECTION
Takes care of RTB’s financial matters and control financial provision.
2) TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT SECTION
Training and Development Section is responsible in managing and conducting training programme for RTB personnel towards enhancing the staffs’ professionalism. Training and Development Section is also known as Centre for Broadcasting Development.
3) ENTERPRISE SECTION
The Enterprise Section is responsible with the marketing and promotions of RTB products and merchandises.
4) CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS SECTION
The Corporate Communications Section is responsible in handling matters that are related to public relations.
5) INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS SECTION
The International Affairs Section is responsible in handling matters that are MoU-related and international subjects.
